4/20 BOGO Flow

In celebration of this years 4/20, the Argonautix family dropped a new song featuring Kixx and Artie McCraft titled BOGO Flow. For those who aren’t familiar with the abbreviation, it stands for “Buy One, Get One,” a popular deal that many of our local Medicinal shops offer in the Southbay area. This video features the entire the entire Yatch Klub posted at a local shop kickin raps over a Nujabes beat. Shoutout to the fam for reppin our Blue dreams tee and our City Of The Green hoody. Brand spotlight: Brixton

I’ve always been into streetwear brands like Brixton that can consistently put out timeless pieces. Its not easy being able to make a piece look and feel like it’s been around for decades but still incorporate details from the current time. I’ve seen a lot of brands try and try but either end up reviving an old trend completely or come up with something that comes off not really retro, but not really new. Brixton doesn’t seem to have that problem as they hit it off on almost every piece they put out. For those who liked our snapback, you might want to check out this one from Brixton called Arden.

Their graphics aren’t loud but they aren’t outdated. Their cut and sew is on point and I really like how they give their button-ups that slim-vintage cut, yet still room for me to breathe. I also own a few slim cut t-shirts and I’m digging the way they run their sleeves a bit longer than the usual slim fit. For long, lanky dudes like myself, that means I don’t have to walk around pulling down my sleeves every two minutes cause its too damn slim.

All in all, they’ve made me a fan with their attention to things like that. I really enjoy their simplistic approach and here at Dime A Dozen we’re all about simplicity. We understand that keeping things simple around all the new is no easy task so shout out to Brixton for accomplishing that.

Must Watch KLOOP Interview with Jonas [inspirational]

With Mondays being one of the hardest mornings for myself, I wanted to kick off the blog this week with an interview from Kamaloop TV with Jonas Bevacqua. I came across this a few years ago when me and the team were just getting started with our own movement and no matter how old the video gets, it gets to me everytime. Jonas has truly been an inspiration to myself through what he has done for LRG but more importantly, his attitude, work ethic, and passion towards what he really stood for. I never got a chance to meet Jonas in person, but I do really want to thank him for paving the way for young entrepreneurs like myself. Aside from that, it was LRG that really got me into streetwear back in high school. I remember seeing a few shirts from this “Lifted Research Group” and after a couple months, my closet was stacked.

For all the entrepreneurs that are just getting started out, this video is really a must watch (at least for myself it was). Whether you are trying to start a clothing brand, or a worldwide supermarket, anyone can take something from this interview.

Breezy Excursion Clothing

Over the past few years Ive seen many clothing brands come and go, but one that caught my attention was Breezy Excursion. Their simple and clean designs are exactly what I look for in clothing, much like our slogan “expressions through simplicity.” I thought their new 3/4 cut Button up was very innovative and something new to the game, I had to buy one for myself. If you haven’t heard of them already, check out their recent Winter 2011 line. Nothing but respect for these guys.

#COTG – Release Date

One of the best selling and most requested pieces in dimeadozenclothing history is back just in time for 4/20. #COTG, short for City of the Green (hoodie) will make its return to the online store next wednesday, April 4th.

All City of the Green orders will come with a pack of stickers and a lighter (only 200 made for now) while supplies last. Don’t sleep on these if you missed out the first time, get fresh for 4/20.

Nardwuar has been doing interviews for a minute now. Even though his choice of clothes is a bit odd, his interviews are dope. Each person featured is amazed how much in depth research he does before the actual interview takes place. He’s had the chance to feature everyone and anyone from Motorhead to Charlie Murphy to Kendrick Lamar…check out a few of my favorite interviews he’s done and notice how surprised each person is that he did so much research.
